After the younger brother of Kaizer Chiefs defender Rushwin Dortley joined the club’s academy from Cape Town Spurs, Soccer Laduma highlights five stars in the Amakhosi youth from famous football families.
Emile Dortley
The 16-year-old is described as a virtual carbon copy of his older brother Rushwin in football terms, as he is left-footed and can play as a left-back and left-sided centre-back, from the Cape Town Spurs youth academy, where the Bafana Bafana defender was also developed.
Emile is highly rated among his peers after he was named the 2025 Bayview Youth Tournament Player of the Tournament, where Spurs were crowned champions.

Austin McCarthy
Austin has reportedly shown promise as a young defender, following the footsteps of his brother Aden, who graduated from the academy and is part of the first team, both sons of Amakhosi legend Fabian.
The teenage defender is still in the early stages of his development, playing for the Glamour Boys in the U14 Gauteng Development League.
Kenneth Simmons
Among the third generation from Chiefs founder and Chairman Dr. Kaizer Motaung, Simmons is one of the sons of Motaung’s daughter Jessica, brother to Kaizer Junior, who, like his father, played for Amakhosi first team.
Simmons came through the academy ranks at his family’s club, playing as a striker. After competing in the U17 ranks, he has transitioned into coaching, currently an understudy in the U15 development side.
Reatlegile Mosimane
Reatlegile, the son of legendary South African coach Pitso, started very early in his teenage years, playing as a striker, notably finishing as a top goal-scorer for Chiefs in the U13 Gauteng Development League, where he was publicly congratulated by his father.
The young Mosimane’s talent is undeniable, as at 14 and 15, he has already attracted overseas enquiries after undergoing trials with Italian giants AS Roma last year.
Imaad Hendricks
Imaad, unlike his father Ashraf, who was an uncompromising defender for the likes of Moroka Swallows, Mpumalanga Black Aces and Bidvest Wits, is an attacking player, reaching maturity in the Amakhosi youth ranks.
The teenage forward came through the lower age groups, notably impressing in the U17s, with personal accolades such as Players’ Player of the Season at the club, and is currently playing in the DStv Diski Challenge side.
