Chelsea got back to winning ways in the UEFA Champions League after thrashing ten-man Barcelona 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues got off to a lively start as midfielder Enzo Fernandez had two goals disallowed in the opening 25 minutes.
The hosts got their reward in the 28th minute when Jules Kounde deflected Pedro Neto’s shot into his own net.
Thing got worse for Barcelona just before the break when Ronald Aruajo was sent off after picking up his second yellow card.
Chelsea doubled their lead ten minutes into the second half when Estêvão won possession high up the pitch and skipped two challenges before firing into the roof of the net.
The third goal arrived with 17 minutes remaining as Fernandez turned provider to pick out Liam Delap, who made no mistake from close range.
Manchester City 0-2 Bayer Leverkusen
Manchester City suffered their first defeat in the League Phase after going down 2-1 to Bayer Leverkusen.
The Bundesliga side took the lead on 23 minutes through Alejandro Grimaldo, who found the back of the net with a first-time strike from the edge of the box.
The Etihad was silenced once again on 54 minutes as Patrick Schick doubled Leverkusen’s lead.
Olympique Marseille 2-1 Newcastle United
Olympique Marseille rallied from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Newcastle United on Tuesday night.
The Magpies took the lead as early as the sixth minute with Harvey Barnes volleying home from close range.
The hosts completed the turnaround in the second half as former Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted a quick-fire brace in the opening five minutes.
Borussia Dortmund 4-0 Villarreal
Borussia Dortmund climbed up to fifth spot on the League Phase table after thrashing Villarreal 4-0 at Signal Iduna Park.
Guinea international Serhou Guirassy opened the scoring on the stroke of halftime with a towering header, before the visitors were reduced to ten men in the 53rd minute when Juan Foyth was sent off.
Guirassy completed his brace in the 54th minute to double Barcelona’s lead, while Karim Adeyemi added a third goal.
Fabio Silva also missed a late penalty for the hosts, but Dormtund did get a fourth goal through Daniel Svensson.
