Judge may allow sale of Nicki Minaj’s $20 million home

Nicki Minaj, one of the most influential figures in modern rap and a global entertainment name, is facing new legal pressure over an unpaid court judgment stemming from a dispute with a security guard. A Los Angeles judge has warned that her $20 million Hidden Hills home could be sold to settle a debt of more than $503,000.

Court documents show that Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, owe $503,318.02 to Thomas Weidenmuller, a security supervisor who accused the couple of assault during the rapper’s 2019 concert stop in Germany. A default judgment was issued last year after neither Minaj nor Petty appeared in court to respond to the claims.

Judge signals approval for home sale

In a recent hearing, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Cindy Pánuco said she is prepared to authorize the sale of Minaj’s home if the debt is not resolved. She asked Minaj’s team to submit a detailed statement from Bank of America showing payments toward the $13.3 million mortgage on the property. The next court date is set for Jan. 22, 2026. “My tentative is to grant this,” the judge said, noting that she wants full documentation before making a final order.

Weidenmuller’s attorneys told the court that repeated attempts to collect the funds have failed. They wrote that seven potential sources for garnishment either provided no information or said they had no payments pending to Minaj. The filing argues that selling the Hidden Hills house would cover the entire judgment “with millions to spare,” adding that the current situation is the result of the couple’s “refusal to make payment.”

Weidenmuller’s lawsuit states that Petty punched him during a backstage disagreement, breaking his jaw and leaving him with lasting injuries. The dispute allegedly began after Minaj confronted another security guard who worked under him. Minaj has not publicly commented on the latest development.

Music success and growing business portfolio

Nicki Minaj remains one of the most successful artists of her generation. She has sold more than 100 million records worldwide and earned a long list of honors, including multiple American Music Awards, BET Awards and Billboard Music Awards. Her career includes 22 top-10 singles and global tours that cemented her influence in music and popular culture.

Her empire stretches far beyond entertainment. Minaj has invested in Tidal, partnered with Sears on a lifestyle brand that includes apparel and home products, collaborated with MAC Cosmetics on a beauty collection and launched Pink Friday Entertainment, her own label under Universal Music Group, thus adding millions to her fortune.
