Hugo Broos’ men started their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Angola thanks to goals from Oswin Appollis and Lyle Foster on Monday night.
As a result, South Africa won their opening Africa Cup of Nations game for the first time since in 21 years.
Bafana will come up against an Egypt side, who needed second-half goals from Omar Marmoush and Mohamed Salah to secure a come-from-behind win over Zimbabwe.
These two nations last met in the 2019 round of 16 clash in Egypt, where a solitary goal from Thembinkosi Lorch guided Bafana to a 1-0 win over the Pharaohs.
Surprisingly, South Africa are unbeaten in their last six matches against Egypt, according to CAF, with the Pharaohs’ last win coming in 2006 during a clash played in London.
