Arsenal 2-1 Brighton and Hove Albion
Arsenal cemented top spot in the Premier League with a 2-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday evening,
The Gunners took the lead in the 14th minute Martin Odegaard collected a pass from Bukaya Saka and rifled the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
The lead was doubled seven minutes after the break when Brighton’s Georginio Rutter headed Declan Rice’s corner into his own net.
Brighton did pull a goal back in the 64th minute after Diego Gomez pounced on a rebound in the box and volleyed home.
Nottingham Forest 1-2 Manchester City
Manchester City secured an eighth straight win after overcoming Nottingham Forest 2-1 at the City Ground.
After a scoreless first half, City broke the deadlock three minutes after the halftime break courtesy of Tijjani Reijnders’ fourth league goal of the season.
Forest did manage to level matters in the 54th minute when Igor Jesus raced to the byline before picking Omari Hutchinson, who volleyed home.
However, City got the winning goal with seven minutes remaining when Josko Gvardiol teed up Rayan Cherki, who sent a first-time strike into the bottom corner.
Liverpool 2-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Liverpool secured five straight wins in the league after defeating Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 at Anfield.
The Reds had to wait until the 41st minute for the opening goal through Ryan Gravnberch, who collected a pass from Jeremie Frimpong before rifling the ball home.
The lead was doubled a minute later when Florian Wirtz bagged his first Reds goal with a powerful strike.
Wolves gave themselves some shortly after the halftime break when Santiago Bueno reduced the deficit with his first league goal.
West Ham United 0-1 Fulham
Fulham struck late in the second half to secure a 1-0 win over London rivals West Ham United.
The visitors had to wait until the 85th minute for the only goal of the game courtesy of a strike from Raul Jimenez.
Brentford 4-1 Bournemouth
Brentford were in a rampant mood after thrashing Bournemouth 4-1 on Saturday evening.
The hosts got the early breakthrough when Kevin Schade opened the scoring with his third league goal of the campaign, before an own goal from Djordje Petrovic doubled the home side’s lead.
The Bees extended their advantage six minutes after the interval thanks to Schade’s second goal of the day.
Antoine Semenyo pulled a goal back for Bournemouth on 75 minutes, before Schade rounded off a good day by completing his hat-trick.
