Michael Owen Signs For HollywoodBets

Hollywoodbets have pulled out all the stops in bringing in a legendary footballer in their star-studded roster of brand ambassadors.

Legendary English footballer Michael Owen has been officially unveiled as a brand ambassador for Hollywoodbets, South Africa’s largest sports betting operator. 

The announcement was made at a well-attended event held at Greyville Racecourse in Durban, where Owen and Hollywoodbets revealed their new partnership. The collaboration aims to unite two globally recognised brands with a shared ambition of bringing South Africans closer to the sports they love.

As South Africa’s digital landscape continues to expand, the sports betting industry has experienced significant growth in recent years. 

Owen, who enjoyed a prolific playing career with European giants Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United, remains deeply involved in sport through his passion for horse racing and his role as an English Premier League pundit. 

The 2001 Ballon d’Or winner, renowned for his straightforward and incisive analysis—particularly when it comes to strikers—shared that Hollywoodbets’ strong passion for sport and commitment to nurturing local talent attracted him to the brand. 

Now fondly nicknamed “Tjovitjo” by locals, Owen added that his first interaction with Hollywoodbets left a lasting impression, citing their enthusiasm and close-knit, family-oriented culture as key factors behind the partnership.

“Hollywoodbets have an amazing group of ambassadors, it really does feel like a family of great people. I believe my life, history, and passions align with HollywoodBets.

“I’ve been a footballer, I’ve invested and trained race horses, for almost 23 years of my life, so that’s a massive part of my life, talking about football and my stables at home, and sports in general is just my passion,” noted Michael Owen on how his brand aligns with what Hollywoodbets stands for.
