Sekhukhune United had coach Eric Tinkler gave some special to his defence after the goalless draw against Orlando Pirates.
Tinkler’s charges managed to weather the storm to claim a point at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

“One hundred percent, the defence won us a point, we had to suffer a lot today, the disappointing part like I said in the pre-match interview we needed to better on the ball and needed to make less mistakes with the ball and in the first half we couldn’t string three to four passes together and a lot of individual errors,” Tinkler told SuperSport after the game.
“And again, a team like Pirates they going to put you under pressure but defensively we were solid, Bright had a great game, Danny had a great game, I thought Renaldo the goalkeeper great game. Offensively, not a great game at all which is disappointing.
“Didn’t really create clear-cut chances in my view, we had one from a throw in the first half, half-half but predominantly Pirates attacking us and us defending for our lives.”
Sekhukhune will be back in action against Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday evening, making it three games in seven days.
“Exactly, you can see players who only played a couple of days back and obviously against Stellies you can see the players started to feel towards the end and now it’s going to be about a quick recovery because we got another massive game coming up against Sundowns,” he added.
“Like, I said second half there was improvement there was fight which is what we needed and that was a positive I can take,” added the coach.
