Kaizer Chiefs youngster Nkosana Mbuthu has joined Leicetserford City on loan.
Kaizer Chiefs youngster Nkosana Mbuthu has been sent out on loan for the remainder of the season to gain valuable first-team experience, and he has explained how the move will benefit his development.
Mbuthu, who is the son of former Amakhosi midfielder Patrick ‘Ace’ Mbuthu, has joined Motsepe Foundation Championship side Leicesterford City on loan for the rest of the season, as he’s been unable to break into the first team.

It initially looked like he is on the verge of an official first team appearance when he was included in Amakhosi’s pre-season trip to Turkey before the start of the 2024/25 campaign, as well as their Toyota Cup clash against Tanzanian giants Young Africans.
Since then, however, he has not made an official first team appearance, playing his football in the DStv Diski Challenge side.
He now has an opportunity to gain valuable first team experience in the second tier, with the hope of returning to Naturena next season to challenge for a spot at left back with the likes of Bradley Cross and Paseka Mako.
“This six months is going to be very important for me because I can push myself and get the experience and game time that I need. If I push hard, I can get to where I want to be,” Mbuthu told Soccer Laduma this week.

“NFD is actually not a bad league. You get pretty experienced people. I have Fortune Makaringe as a teammate and he’s been big before back in the days. Playing with people like those, you get to gain experience and get to see how it is because they’ve been on the top level.”
“Spending some time with the first team (at Chiefs) meant a lot to me. There are lessons I got from the camp we went on in Turkey. I feel like it was very important for my development and I am very thankful for that.
Leicesterford are still in the race to win promotion and Mbuthu would love to play a role in leading the club to the topflight.
“My goal now is to do the best that I can. I need to push hard and we don’t know what the future holds. I am going to do my best for the team and for myself. I am still working on defence, but I am fresh blood, so the energy is there.”
