Kaizer Chiefs are currently second on the Betway Premiership standings.
Halfway through the season, Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs are producing numbers that put them in a good position to finally end their league title drought.
Amakhosi are genuine title contenders and last night’s victory over Marumo Gallants is a clear indication that they can grind out results even on the tough occasions.

Former Amakhosi defender Mokete Tsotetsi has been impressed with how Chiefs signings have added value to the team this season. The likes of Flavio Silva, Thabiso Monyane, Lebohang Maboe, Siphesihle Ndlovu and Paseka Mako have played their part and Tsotetsi believes they make the Soweto giants stronger.
“I’ve been watching them. If you look at how they finished last season, there was a lot of improvement. Starting the new season, there were some hiccups, including coach Nabi leaving them. There are new players who have come in and they have started fairly well. The new players found the team on a good track from the previous season after winning the Nedbank Cup and they continued from there, and they added value,” Tsotetsi said to Soccer Laduma.
“Chiefs have been consistent at the back and that will help the goalkeeper. It’s a positive thing for them and I am happy with that. They are consistent with the back four and results are showing. Halfway through the season, they are in a good position.”
