Manchester City 3-0 Fulham
Manchester City moved three points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal with a 3-0 win over Fulham on Wednesday night.
Pep Guardiola’s charges broke the deadlock on 24 minutes when Antoine Semenyo continued his fine form by pouncing on a loose ball and slotting home from three yards out.
The lead was doubled in the 32nd minute when Semenyo turned provider to play in Nico O’Reilly, who calmly lobbed the ball over Bernd Leno, before Erling Haaland added a third goal with a lovely finish from the edge of the box.
Arsenal will be in action on Thursday night away to Brentford.
Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool
Liverpool returned to winning ways in the league by defeating Sunderland 1-0 at the Stadium of Light.
The Reds got the breakthrough in the 61st minute when Virgil van Dijk nodded home a corner from Mohamed Salah.
Crystal Palace 2-3 Burnley
Burnley rallied back from two goals down to secure a vital 3-2 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Palace raced into a two-goal lead thanks to a brace from January signing Jorgen Strand Larsen.
However, the visitors managed to hit back in the final five minutes thanks to Hannibal Mejbri, Jaidon Anthony and an own goal from Jefferson Lerma.
Aston Villa 1-0 Brighton & Hove Albion
Aston Villa cemented third spot on the table with a 1-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.
Jack Hinshelwood’s own goal in the 86th minute was enough to secure maximum points for Unai Emery’s charges.
Nottingham Forest 0-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers could not be separated after playing to a goalless draw on Wednesday night.
Forest now sit three points above the relegation zone while Wolves are yet to reach the 10-point mark this season.
