Liverpool 3-0 Brighton and Hove Albion
Liverpool advanced to the fifth round of the FA Cup after defeating Brighton and Hove Albion 3-0 at Anfield on Saturday night.
The Reds had the ball in the back of the net on 35 minutes through Cody Gakpo’s header, but the celebrations were cut short due to the offside flag.
The hosts did get their reward before the break when Curtis Jones turned home a cross from Milos Kerkez.
The lead was doubled ten minutes after the halftime break when Dominik Szoboszlai raced onto a pass from Mohamed Salah before thumping the ball into the back of the net.
Salah then got his name on the score-sheet by converting a penalty after he was fouled in the box.
Manchester City 2-0 Salford City
Manchester City booked their spot in the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 2-0 win over League Two outfit Salford City at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s charges took the lead after just six minutes courtesy of an own goal from Alfie Dorrington.
City had wait until the 81st minute for the second goal as January signing Marc Guehi bagged his first goal for the club.
Burnley 1-2 Mansfield Town
Burnley were dumped out of the FA Cup after losing 2-1 to League One side Mansfield Town FC at Turf Moor.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 21st minute through Josh Laurent’s strike, with Lyle Foster picking up the assist.
However, Mansfield hit back in the second half thanks to goals from Rhys Oates and Louis Reed.
Aston Villa 1-3 Newcastle United
Newcastle United rallied from behind to secure a 3-1 win over Aston Villa in the fourth round.
Villa raced into a first-half lead thanks to a goal from Tammy Abraham, but the hosts had goalkeeper Marco Bizot sent off before the halftime break.
Newcastle turned the game around in the second half thanks to a brace from Sandro Tonali and a late strike Nick Woltemade.
