UCL: Campbell’s Brugge Hold Atletico In 6-Goal Thriller

Club Brugge 3-3 Atletico Madrid

Club Brugge and Atletico Madrid played to an entertaining 3-3 draw in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League play-off clash.

Atletico raced into a two-goal lead in the first half thanks to goals from Julian Alvarez and Ademola Lookman.

The Belgian giants hit back in the second half as Raphael Onyedika and Nicolo Tresoldi scored in quick succession before the hour mark.

Atletico, however, got back in front with 11 minutes left on the clock thanks to an own goal from Joel Ordonez.

Bafana Bafana international Shandre Campbell was introduced for Brugge in the 82nd minute, before the hosts levelled matters in the 89th minute.

Qarabag 1-6 Newcastle United

Newcastle United have one foot in the round of 16 after thrashing Qarabag 6-1 in their first leg on Wednesday night.

England international Anthony Gordon starred in the first half by bagging four goals, while Malick Thiaw also scored in a dominant first-half display from the visitors.

Elvin Cafarquliyev did pull one back for Qarabag in the 54th minute, before Jacob Murphy grabbed Newcastle’s sixth goal on 72 minutes.

Bodo/Glimt 3-1 Inter Milan

Bodo/Glimt are on the brink of securing a shock result after defeating Inter Milan 3-1 in the first leg.

Sondre Fet put the hosts in front on 20 minutes, before Francesco Pio Esposito restored parity for the Serie A giants ten minutes later.

Bodo, however, got back in front in the second period thanks to goals from Jens Hauge and Kasper Hogh.

Olympiakos 0-2 Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen registered a 2-0 win over away to Greek giants Olympiakos at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium.

Czech Republic international Patrik Schick’s brace in the second half was enough to seal maximum points.
