Manchester United 4-2 Brighton and Hove Albion
Manchester United registered a third successive win in the Premier League after defeating Brighton and Hove Albion 4-2 at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils made two changes from the win over Liverpool as Lenny Yoro and Benjamin Sesko replaced Harry Maguire and Mason Mount.
The home side got the opening goal in the 24th minute when Matheus Cunha opened his account for the club with a lovely curling finish from just outside the area.
United doubled the lead ten minutes later when Casemiro unleashed a strike from distance that took a big deflection and sailed into the back of the net.
The third goal arrived in the 61st minute as Benjamin Sesko turned provider to play in Bryan Mbeumo, who slotted home his third league goal of the campaign.
Brighton did set up a nervy finish in the final 15 minutes courtesy of a lovely free-kick from former United striker Danny Welbeck and another goal from Charalampos Kostoulas.
However, Bryan Mbuemo bagged the fourth goal in second-half stoppage time to seal the win.
Chelsea 1-2 Sunderland
Chelsea suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat to Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues took the lead in the fourth minute when Pedro Neto played in Alejandro Garnacho, who slotted home from close range.
The Black Cats levelled matters in the 22nd minute courtesy of a strike from Wilson Isidor.
With the game seemingly headed for a draw, Sunderland popped up with the winning goal in the 93rd minute via a composed finish from Chemsdine Talbi.
Newcastle United 2-1 Fulham
Newcastle United got back to winning ways in the league with a 2-1 win over Fulham St James’ Park.
Jacob Murphhy put the Magpies ahead on 18 minutes, before the visitors levelled matters in the second period through Lukic Sasa.
The hosts got the winning goal in the 90th minute through Bruno Guimaraes’ neat finish in the box.
