Bafana Bafana resume their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign against COSAFA rivals Zimbabwe this evening.
2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier
Teams: Zimbabwe v South Africa
Date: 10 October 2025
Venue: Moses Mabhida Stadium
The situation in Group C has changed quite a bit for Bafana since the September international break, as they were docked three points by FIFA after being found guilty for fielding an indelible player against Lesotho in a World Cup qualifier in March.
As a result, Bafana have dropped to second spot heading into this evening’s clash, but they remain level on points with group leaders Benin who face Rwanda.
Relebohile Mofokeng and Iqraam Rayners have already withdrawn from the squad this week, with Mduduzi Shabalala and Evidence Makgopa called up as replacements.
Zimbabwe, meanwhile, have nothing left to play for except pride as they sit bottom of Group C with four points to their name.
Here’s how they line up:
Zimbabwe: Arubi, Zemura, Garananga, Lunga, Hadebe, Billiat, Nakamba, Chirewa, Munetsi, Musona, Takwara.
South Africa: Williams, Mudau, Mbokazi, Sibisi, Modiba, Mokoena, Mbule, Sithole, Nkota, Appollis, Foster
Subs: Chaine, Goss, Shabalala, Aubaas, Ndamane, Makgopa, Matuludi, Morena, Moremi, Mkhoza, Kabini, Mbatha
