Barcelona are reportedly keen on signing an African striker valued at €100 million as a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

The Polish forward’s future at Camp Nou remains uncertain. Despite scoring prolifically and helping the Catalan giants to multiple domestic titles since his 2022 arrival, his age and expiring contract have cast doubt over whether he will stay beyond the 2025/26 season.

As a result, Barça are scouring the transfer market for possible successors, and Guinea international Serhou Guirassy has emerged as a strong candidate.

The towering forward has been one of Europe’s most lethal strikers in recent seasons. At Stuttgart, he netted 30 goals in 30 appearances during the 2023/24 campaign. Since joining Borussia Dortmund, he has continued his blistering form, scoring 38 goals in all competitions in his debut season and tying Raphinha as the top scorer in the UEFA Champions League with 13 goals.

Barça fans will remember him well: Guirassy scored a hat-trick against them in the Champions League quarterfinal second leg last season. Now, according to Bild, Blaugrana coach Hansi Flick is pushing to bring the 29-year-old to Camp Nou.

Dortmund have reportedly placed a €100 million (R2 billion) price tag on their star striker, a figure likely out of Barca’s reach given their financial struggles. However, the report suggests that if a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid were to make an approach, Dortmund could be willing to lower the asking price to around €65 million (R1.3 billion).
