Simba will face a Singida Black Stars side that will be reeling from a 3-0 drubbing against Yanga in their previous encounter.
Barker’s men have enjoyed a good run of form and are currently on a nine-game unbeaten run that includes five wins and four draws across the league, domestic cup, and the CAF Champions League.
Simba currently sit 4th with 24 points from 11 games, eight points behind Yanga but having played a game less than their Kariakoo rivals.
The South African has issued a rallying cry to his squad to get back to winning ways as they look to make a strong challenge for the title, Pan-Africa Football reported.
“It is nice to be here at Singida, yeah, I think obviously it is a massive game for us,” Barker said.
“We have come off two goalless draws in the league, so it is very important first to get ourselves back on track,” he added. The former Stellenbosch coach is aware of Singida’s quality.
“We need to win and get maximum points, but we do understand Singida are a difficult team; they are having a good season. Last year, they were a very competitive team and well coached,” the 58-year-old said.
Barker urged his side to play to their full potential and promised the fans that the team would show up with 100% commitment.
