Morgan Gould sees the positives in how Chiefs are playing in the CAF Confederations Cup and how they have lived up to expectations as one of the big clubs in African football.

Kaizer Chiefs are just one good result away from qualifying for the CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinals as they take on Egyptian side Zamalek FC on Saturday.

Former Amakhosi defender Morgan Gould has said that Chiefs are living up to their expectations as a big team in Africa with their good performances so far.

In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, Gould said the team has been playing good football, which is good for them and for Bafana Bafana as well.

“No, look, they are living up to the expectation. It’s a good thing for them, you know. They’re providing good football, and they’re playing on the continent. It’s always good for the team to get that level so they can get more players into the national team and not just that but just make South African football to be reckoned with on the continent,” Gould said.

On the point of the team qualifying for the quarterfinals, the former Bafana Bafana defender said that it’s possible, but they should take one game at a time.

“Look, it’s not impossible. Take each game at a time and make sure that they don’t look too far ahead, you know, because there’s one more game left,” Gould concluded.

Chiefs are currently topping their group with Zamalek in second position. A draw away in Egypt on Saturday will qualify Amakhosi for the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup this year.
