Cityzens manager Pep Guardiola made just one change from the win over Real Madrid on Wednesday, as Jeremy Doku made way for Tijjani Reijnders.
Palace nearly took the lead on 17 minutes when Yeremy Pino latched on a long-ball over the top to go through on goal, but the Spaniard saw his strike crash against the crossbar with only Gianluigi Donnaruuma to beat.
City, meanwhile, had to wait until the 30th minute for an opening at goal, with Phil Foden unleashing a strike from distance that forced goalkeeper Dean Henderson into a fine save.
The visitors did get their reward on 41 minutes when Matheus Nunes did well to pick out Erling Haaland, who nodded home his 16th league goal of the campaign.
Palace nearly pulled themselves level five minutes after the halftime break when Adam Wharton pounced on a loose ball in the box and unleashed a first-time strike that rattled against the post.
City, however, double their lead in the 69th minute as Rayan Cherki skipped past a couple challenges before teeing up Foden, who took one touch before firing into the far corner 20 yards out.
The visitors were awarded a penalty with two minutes to play after Savinho was brought down by Henderson in the box. Haaland stepped up and calmly slotted home to complete his brace and seal the win.
