While there remains no official update on the future of Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi, it is believed that two African clubs are interested in the Tunisian-born tactician.

Nabi has not been with the Chiefs first team since the 3-1 defeat to Sekhukhune United in September, with the Soweto giants previously releasing a statement revealing they are in discussions with the coach over an ‘internal matter’.

A reliable source close to the situation in East Africa has indicated to the Siya crew that Tanzanian Premier League champions Young Africans and Libyan giants Al Ahly Tripoli are believed to be two of the clubs looking at potentially bringing Nabi on board for the current season.

“His license is not expired as Chiefs said. He is in Tanzania. Anytime he could join either Young Africans or Al Ahly Tripoli Yanga,” the source told Soccer Laduma.

“And two coaches are (candidates) on the verge to join them (Yanga). Yes, the team is not playing well despite only registering a single draw in their last five matches.”

Under Romain Folz, Yanga have started their Premier League campaign with a mixed bag of results, but it may be early days to make a sudden change.

Until Nabi and Chiefs have officially separated, the Amakhosi mentor will not be able to join a new club. So it remains to be seen how the Chiefs coach’s situation resolves itself in the coming weeks.

Soccer Laduma contacted Yanga for comment, but there was no response at the time of preparing this story.
