Siyabonga Mabena might not have featured for the first team at Mamelodi Sundowns since returning from the Under-20 FIFA World Cup, but the youngster is working his way back.
The 18-year-old made a promising start to the season, featuring six times as first team coach Miguel Cardoso gave him valuable minutes after spending a big part of last term recovering from injury.

With six appearances and one goal to his name between August and September, Mabena was called up to be part of the Amajita squad which participated at the World Cup in Chile.
Since his return, however, the speedy winger has not made a first team appearance. Instead, he has been playing in the DStv Diski Challenge and he is making the type of progress that could see him getting back into the matchday squad for the senior team.
Soccer Laduma understands that Mabena remains part of Cardoso’s plans and will still get his opportunity to feature more going forward. Playing in the Diski Challenge gives him a chance to get minutes and focus on school as well.
