Maema has been a star showing for the Reds of Msimbazi since his loan move from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Signed by Fadlu Davids and now coached by Steve Barker, Maema remains determined to get Simba’sa season back on track after a difficult mid-season run.

According to Pan-Africa Football, Maema is determined to end arch-rivals Yanga’s run of four successive league titles as he looks to help the team wherever he can.

“I am happy to see that the team is moving in the right direction to compete,” Maema revealed. “Not only to compete, but to win the league. That is what we want, and that is what we will fight for,” the 30-year-old continued.

Maema believes that Simba are more than capable of ending Yanga’s domestic dominance, and he has credited the fans for their energy.

“The fans pride themselves on this club doing well,” he said.

“I am happy to see things panning out for the team. It is important to make them happy because when they attend matches, we feel that energy on the pitch. They must continue to support us, and the club will deliver for them,” the former Bloemfontein Celtic man added.

Maema concluded that he has learnt how to block out criticism, and while everyone will have an opinion of his performances, he remains focused on his goals.
