Sunderland 0-0 Manchester City

Manchester City lost some ground in the Premier League title race after being held to a goalless draw by Sunderland on New Year’s Day.

The draw leaves Pep Guardiola’s charges in second spot but they are now four points adrift of league leaders Arsenal.

Sunderland, meanwhile, find themselves in seventh position on the table and sit four points behind fourth-place Liverpool.

Brentford 0-0 Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur’s shaky form in the league continued after playing to a goalless draw against Thomas Frank’s former side Brentford.

Spurs remain in the bottom half of the table in 12th position while Brentford move up to ninth spot.

Liverpool 0-0 Leeds United

Liverpool endured a frustrating evening after being held to a goalless draw by Leeds United at Anfield.

The Reds came into the clash on the back of four successive win in all competitions, which includes a 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers over the weekend.

Arne Slot’s charged dominated proceedings in the first half but they struggled to carve out any serious openings at the Leeds goal.

That was the trend for the second half as well, as neither side could find a winner although Leeds’ Dominic Calvert-Lewin had a goal disallowed for offside.

Crystal Palace 1-1 Fulham

Fulham and Crystal Palace could not be separated after playing to a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles broke the deadlock on 39 minutes as Jean-Philippe Mateta bagged his seventh league goal by nodding home a cross from Nathaniel Clyne.

The visitors got back on level terms courtesy of a strike from Tom Cairney in the 80th minute.
