Mokwana is attracting interest in Saudi Arabia
Bafana Bafana star Elias Mokwana has attracted interest from clubs in the Middle East amid his current loan spell at Saudi Arabian club Al-Hazem.
Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana is currently on loan at Saudi Arabian club Al- Hazem and its believed that he has attracted more interest from more clubs already in the Middle East.
The pacey winger last featured for the national team in November last year but has now earned a recall ahead of this month’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Mokwana is enjoying a resurgence during his season-long loan at Saudi Arabian side Al-Hazem, with the attacker attributing his return to the national setup to a change of environment.
Insiders close to the player have told Soccer Laduma that there is growing interest in his services, but discussions will only be considered after AFCON, where Mokwana will be representing South Africa.
“He has already been invited by Saudi clubs. We will wait for him to do well in the national team and hopefully we can get a game time and perform and also bring interest. We are happy with Mokwana to be back in the national team,” the source told the Siya crew.
Soccer Laduma contacted the player’s agent Pontsho Madumo of Cream Sport Management, who claimed that everything would be discussed after the Afcon in Morocco.
“He can attract interest and have the chance of playing in big club in overseas,” Madumo told Soccer Laduma.
The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Al Hazm from Tunisian side Esperance and has played in nine games, scoring once and also providing one assist.
