The story

CAF president Patrice Motsepe’s latest high-profile encounter saw him link up with one of Africa’s most celebrated basketball exports, underlining his growing presence on social media.

Since joining various platforms, Motsepe has offered fans behind-the-scenes glimpses of his interactions with global icons and football royalty, including Zinedine Zidane, Kylian Mbappé, and viral Congolese supporter Michel Mboladinga, popularly known as “Lumumba Vea,” highlighting Motsepe’s efforts to connect African football with influential figures across the sports and cultural worlds.

His meeting with Serge Ibaka, the Congolese-Spanish NBA star and 2019 NBA champion with the Toronto Raptors, marked another notable sporting crossover.
