Bafana Bafana attacker Luther Singh has revealed that he has not closed the door on a potential return to the Premier Soccer League (PSL), even as he continues to thrive with Cypriot outfit AEL Limassol.

Singh, who has enjoyed a strong run in Europe since leaving South Africa as a teenager, admitted that there has been contact from PSL clubs but stressed that his immediate focus remains on achieving his goals abroad.

“I feel like we can be honest about it and yeah, we were in contact [from home]. There was contact between me and a few clubs,” Singh told to Soccer Laduma.

“But I won’t say it’s a door that is closed, because every player has their own goals and desires. Maybe at this time, I’m not done with what I have planned for myself in Europe. I still believe there’s more I can achieve here,”

The 28-year-old forward, who has previously played in Portugal for SC Braga and Moreirense, acknowledged the growth of the PSL and its reputation as one of Africa’s strongest leagues.

“I won’t say the door is closed for South Africa because the league is growing. I know players who have gone back home that I played with in Portugal, and I know the league is one of the best in Africa. There are good clubs, so for me it’s a door that is open like everywhere else in the world.”

Singh emphasised that while he remains happy and committed to his current contract with Limassol, he understands that football careers can change quickly.

“I don’t know what tomorrow may bring, but for now I’m focused on the present. I’m happy where I am, and I have a contract. But the door for South Africa is not closed.”
