The story

Orlando Pirates are marking a major milestone, three decades of partnership with global sportswear leader adidas, with a nostalgic twist for fans.

To celebrate, the Soweto giants have made a selection of archive kits available once again on their official website, taking supporters on a stylish trip down memory lane.

The collection spans from the 2016/17 home kit to the striking, fashion-forward designs by Thebe Magugu for the 2023/24 campaign. Each home and away jersey is priced at a reasonable R599, though most are already shown as sold out — a testament to the lasting appeal of these memorable strips.

The drop on the club’s online store coincides with Pirates’ official confirmation of a five-year extension to their partnership with adidas, cementing one of the longest-standing and most iconic relationships in African football.

First established in 1996, the collaboration has grown synonymous with some of the club’s most memorable moments, both on and off the pitch.

As per the club’s statement, the renewed agreement emphasises a shared commitment to performance, innovation, and global brand growth. For three decades, adidas has not only provided cutting-edge performance apparel but also delivered pioneering kit designs and merchandise that resonate with generations of Buccaneers supporters around the world.

As 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of this collaboration, fans are getting the chance to celebrate in style by revisiting classic kits that tell the story of a partnership built on passion, performance, and pride.
