Real Punish Man City, PSG Hit 5 Past Chelse…

Real Madrid 3-0 Manchester City

Real Madrid put on a commanding display to thrash Manchester City 3-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie.

The hosts took the lead on 20 minutes when Federico Valverde latched onto Thibaut Courtois’ long-pass before rounding Gianluigi Donnarumma and firing into an empty net.

The lead was doubled seven minutes later when Vinicius Junior turned provider to pick out Valverde, who took one touch before firing into the far corner.

Valverde capped off a memorable half on 42 minutes with a sublime solo effort to complete his hat-trick, which was the first of his Los Blancos career.

Los Blancos had a chance to add a fourth goal just before the hour mark but Vinicius had his penalty saved by Donnarumma.

Paris Saint-Germain 5-2 Chelsea

Paris Saint-Germain managed to secure a 5-2 win over Chelsea in the first leg at the Parc des Princes.

The French outfit took the lead on 10 minutes through Bradley Barcola’s strike, before Malo Gusto equalised for the Blues in the 28th minute.

Luis Enrique’s men did restore their lead five minutes before the break as Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele fired home from close range.

Chelsea did equalise through Enzo Fernandez in the 57th minute, but the defending champions managed to hit back through Vitina on 74 minutes before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia netted the fourth goal with four minutes to play.

There was enough time for a fifth goal as Kvaratskhelia completed his brace in second-half stoppage time, giving PSG a big advantage ahead of next week’s second leg.

Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Arsenal

Arsenal struck late in the second half to secure a 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday evening.

The Bundesliga outfit took the lead shortly after the halftime break courtesy of a strike from Robert Andrich.

The Gunners managed to rescue a goal as former Leverkusen star Kai Havertz converted a penalty in the 89th minute.

Bodo/Glimt 3-0 Sporting Lisbon

Bodo/Glimt have one foot in the next round of the Champions League after defeating Sporting Lisbon 3-0.

The home side raced into a two-goal lead in the first half thanks to strikes from Sondre Fet and Ole Blomberg.

Glimt did go on to grab a third goal in the 71st minute, with Kasper Hogh finding the back of the net.
