Salah Equals Rooney Record In Liverpool Win

Liverpool returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday night.

Reds manager Arne Slot recalled all the regulars following their Carabao Cup exit on Wednesday, as Andrew Robertson was the only player to keep his spot in the starting line-up.

Th game got off to a lively start as Morgan Rogers went clos to opening the scoring inside the opening ten minutes, but his long-range effort was saved.

Liverpool were rewarded minutes later when Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez gifted the ball straight to Mohamed Salah, who fired into the side-netting.

In doing so, Salah equalled Wayne Rooney’s record of most goal involvements for a single Premier League club (276 G/A)

The lead was doubled just before the hour mark when just before the hour mark as Ryan Gravenberch bagged his second goal of the season with a strike from distance.

Slot’s charges were able to see out the rest of the second half with relative ease to end their four-game losing run in the league.

Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Chelsea

Chelsea got back to winning ways in the league after defeating London rivals Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 on Saturday evening.

Brazil international Joao Pedro got the only goal of the game in the first half after being set up by Moises Caicedo.
