The motorist who struck him reportedly died shortly after the accident.

Another incident occurred on Monday in Aweil South County, where a motorbike and a pick-up truck collided, resulting in the death of the conductor the pick-up truck.

A local resident, Adut Deng, stated that the accident shocked the residents after the county’s director of land and survey was struck by another motorist, who later died after being taken to the hospital.

“The director, Anei Chan Geng was going to Malualbaai for his duties of survey and measurement of the road, when he fell into such mysterious accident, where he collided with another rider who was also pronounced dead while rushed to the Malualkon hospital,” Adut said.

Meanwhile, the director of traffic police in Aweil, Diing Reech Diing, reported that a similar accident resulted in the death of a pick-up car conductor who died while riding on Monday in Aweil South County.

Reech attributed all such accidents to over-speeding.

“One motorist and a conductor died in an accident on Monday and all these developments are as a result of poor riding and driving,” said Reech.

He stated that another factor contributing to the frequent and fatal accidents is negligence and poor road conditions.

Authorities encourage local residents and road users to comply with traffic laws to address these issues.
