Ticket prices revealed for Springboks v All Blacks in SA

In a shift to the traditional Springbok fixture schedule for this year, the Rugby Championship will be paused as South Africa instead host the All Blacks in a highly-anticipated tour that will undoubtedly draw plenty of interest in ticket prices.

The All Blacks kick off the tour against the Stormers in Cape Town on Friday, 7 August and take on the Sharks, Bulls and Lions, to complement a four Test series against the Springboks.

Ellis Park (Johannesburg), DHL Stadium (Cape Town), and FNB Stadium (Johannesburg) are confirmed as South African Test venues, and tickets have now go on sale.

For the Cape Town Test, the cheapest R850 tickets were all snapped up on pre-sale as the stadium will almost certainly be sold out in no time, and the remaining tickets ranging from R1 650, R2850 and R4000 aren’t expected to last long.

At Ellis Park and FNB Stadium, the ticket prices ranged from R400 to R850 to R1650 to R2850, and those are also selling fast.

Springboks and All Blacks Tests set to fetch huge crowds regardless of ticket prices

All three Tests are fully expected to be sold out, while it will be interesting to see what type of crowd turns up for the fourth Test that will take place in the USA on 23 September

Some of those cheapest tickets look to be around the $200 mark (R3200), while the most premium sideline seats rise as high as nearly $2000 (R32 000).

Back-to-back Rugby World Cup winning Springbok captain Siya Kolisi said: “This is going to be something huge and something this generation will never forget. These are the tours we’ve only heard of. To experience this for the first time, where it’s like a Lions tour, is unbelievable for us as a group.

“I have no doubt the Springbok fans will be there waiting to welcome the All Blacks fans to South Africa. Let’s get excited; let’s get behind it and, people of South Africa, it’s an opportunity for us to show the world once again who we are and what we are about – we certainly can’t wait for it.”
