Zambia 0-3 Morocco

Africa Cup of Nations hosts Morocco secured top spot in Group A with a 3-0 victory over Zambia, who were eliminated on Monday night.

The Atlas Lions took the lead as early as the ninth minute when Ayoub El Kaabi bagged his second goal of the competition by turning home a cross from Azzedine Ounahi.

The lead was doubled in the 27th minute as Brahim Diaz got his second goal in two games with a lovely composed finish after running onto Abde Ezzalzouli’s cross.

It got better for the host nation in the second half when El Kaabi completed his brace five minutes after the break with his second overhead kick of the tournament.

Comoros 0-0 Mali

Mali booked their spot round of 16 following a goalless draw against Comoros on Monday evening.

The point was enough to see Mali secure second spot in Group A despite not winning a single game.

Comoros finish the campaign in third spot, but they are not among the best third-place sides in the tournament.

Angola 0-0 Egypt

Egypt secured top spot in Group B after being held to a goalless draw against Angola.

With qualification already secured, the Pharaohs made wholesale changes as the likes of Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush, Trezeguet and Zizo were all left on the bench.

It didn’t matter though as the point was enough to seal top spot while Angola are eliminated without winning a single game.
