Inter Milan 0-1 Liverpool
Liverpool got back to winning ways in the UEFA Champions League after defeating Inter Milan 1-0 at the San Siro.
The Reds were without Mohamed Salah, who was dropped from the squad after his big interview over the weekend, as Aleksander Isak joined Hugo Ektike and Curtis Jones in the attack.
The visitors had the ball in the back of the net on 35 minutes when Ibrahima Konate headed home but after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review, the goal was ruled out for a handball.
The Reds were given a lifeline on 87 minutes after being awarded a penalty for Bastoni’s clumsy foul on Florian Wirtz. In the absence of Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai took responsibility and calmly converted the spot-kick.
FC Barcelona 2-1 Eintracht Frankfurt
Barcelona rallied from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt at the Camp Nou.
The visitors took a surprising lead in the 21st minute through Ansgar Knauff’s lovely strike from the edge of the box.
Marcus Rashford was introduced at the start of the second and made an immediate impact by setting up Jules Kounde for the close range strike to level matters.
Kounde completed his brace on 53 minutes by turning home a cross from Lamine Yamal.
Atalanta 2-1 Chelsea
Chelsea were unable return to winning ways after a 2-1 loss to Serie A side Atalanta on Tuesday.
Enzo Maresca’s side got the breakthrough on 26 minutes when Reece James turned provider to play in Joao Pedro, who made no mistake from close range.
Gianluca Scamacca brought Atalanta level ten minutes after the break, before Charles De Ketelaere netted the winner for Atalanta in the 83rd minute.
Bayern Munich 3-1 Sporting Lisbon
Bayern Munich rallied from behind to secure a 3-1 win over Sporting Lisbon at the Allianz Arena.
The Portuguese champions took the lead in the 54th minute courtesy of an own goal from Joshua Kimmich, although Bayern levelled matters ten minutes later through Serge Gnabry’s finish.
Seventeen-year-old Lennart Karl completed the turnaround for Vincent Kompany’s men on 69 minutes, before Johathan Tah secured the two-goal lead eight minutes later.
