Western Province Power Past the Dolphins and North West Register First Win

The CSA Women’s Pro20 Series weekend delivered two high-stakes encounters that further clarified the competition’s structure, confirming the leaders’ pedigree while handing a lifeline to one of the bottom-ranked sides, on Sunday, 16 November 2025.

Western Province Women vs. Hollywoodbets Dolphins

Sunday, November 16, 1:30 PM IST (Match 10, Newlands, Cape Town)

The much-anticipated clash between table-toppers WSB Western Province Women and the Hollywoodbets Dolphins proved to be a high-scoring thriller, but ultimately a win for the dominant side.

After being identified as the league’s powerhouse in the gsport preview, Western Province delivered on their reputation, amassing a formidable total of 187/3.

Opener Faye Tunnicliffe continued her commanding form with a steady 83, providing the foundation before Dané van Niekerk’s explosive 51* off just 29 balls powered the team to the impressive total.

Despite a valiant, almost century-making chase by Dolphins’ Alexandra Candler (89 off 53 balls), the visiting team fell short, managing 160/6.

The 27-run victory maintains Western Province’s perfect record and solidifies their position at the summit of the log.

South Western Districts Women vs. North West Women

Sunday, November 16, 2:30 PM IST (Match 11, Recreation Ground, Oudtshoorn)

In the desperate battle to escape the basement, the North West Women secured their crucial first victory, condemning South Western Districts Women to the bottom of the table.

The North West Dragons batted first and posted a strong 166/4, a total too high for the struggling Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers’ batting line-up.

While SWD captain and star bowler Zintle Kula has consistently delivered individual brilliance, her side’s cumulative batting woes continued, and they finished their chase on 139/7, handing North West a 27-run win.
