The Springboks boast as much speed as they do strength and skill across the field.
They have pace in abundance, with the likes of Cheslin Kolbe, Kurt-Lee Arendse, Makazole Mapimpi, Grant Williams and Canan Moodie ranking among the fastest players in the modern game.
But, who is quickest in the Springbok set-up?

FASTEST SPRINGBOK?
Most Springboks fans would probably guess that Cheslin Kolbe would be the fastest player in the squad.
Reports do appear to confirm that belief, with the winger clocking what would equate to a 10.7-second 100m time (albeit is shorter bursts).
However, there is now a ‘new’ Springbok who has reportedly recorded even quicker times on the playing field.
Any guesses as who it is?
SPEEDSTER GRANT WILLIAMS RECORDS 10.2-10.7s 100M TIME
If you guessed Grant Williams – you are correct.
The Sharks and Springboks scrumhalf has reportedly recorded times that would equate to between 10.2 and 10.7 seconds over 100m.
That ‘grants’ (pun intended) him the honour of having recorded the fastest times among the current Springbok players.
There are, however, a few important factors to consider.
Firstly, the times of players such as Edwill van der Merwe, Makazole Mapimpi and Canan Moodie have not been publicly disclosed.
Furthermore, in the modern game, acceleration over short bursts is arguably even more important than outright top speed.
Regardless of any timing discrepancies, Williams remains one of the quickest Springboks and one of the fastest rugby players in the world.
SPRINGBOK SPEEDSTER JETS OFF TO NEXT CLUB
Unfortunately for Sharks fans, Williams will be leaving at the end of the season.
As reported on The South African, he will be saying ‘sayonara’ to South Africa.
The Japanese club he will be joining has not been disclosed at the time of publication.
However, he was recently spotted in Japan visiting the country.
