Signed as a top goal-scorer in his native land in 2007, Ralph Matema joined the Soweto giants with a lot of expectations, but he could not make an impact, with injuries playing a major role in his lack of game time.
Zvenyika Makonese was highly-rated when he joined Ezimnyama in 2009, but competition for places saw him make a handful of appearances before his contract eventually ran down.
Takesure Chinyama showed promise early in his stay at Pirates after he was signed in 2012, but he also could not command a regular starting berth, as goals were not forthcoming.

Arguably the most successful Zimbabwean signing by Pirates, Marshall Munetsi needed only two years at The Ghosts from 2017 after he was signed from Ubuntu Cape Town and had a loan spell at Baroka, but he was soon signed by Stade Reims in France.
Kudakwashe Mahachi did not exactly have the impact that his potential promised, after he was signed from Golden Arrows ahead of the 2018/19 season.
Terrence Dzvukamanja had a relatively good spell at the Soweto giants, although in the latter stages of his three-year stay, after he initially was not a fan favorite.
